You are the proud owner of purebred Berkshire pork raised by Doug Metzger! Doug runs Metzger farm, one of the last truly diversified farms left in Kansas, with his wife Betty and two children in Seneca, Kansas.

The Berkshire is considered one of the best tasting pigs on the market today and the breed is highly prized in Japan. Purebreds Berkshires have 6 spots on their bodies and it is only pigs with the 6 spots that qualify as purebred Berkshires.

Your pig was processed at Paradise Lockers in Trimble, Missouri by Mario Fantasma. Mario runs Paradise with his wife Teresa and two sons, Lewis and Nick. Paradise is a USDA inspected plant and services the entire Kansas City community.

All of our hogs are raised on family farms that are owned and operated by the producers.

Producers cannot feed antibiotics or growth hormones to the animals at any time during their life cycle. Injured or sick animals cannot be harvested for meat use.

Our pigs live on dirt lots or grass pastures always with access to deep bedding. Breeding is done naturally.

We have visited Metzger Farm numerous times and assure all consumers that it produces meat you can eat!
